COURSE OBJECTIVES:

• Understanding the fundamental principles of sound : Provide students with a solid foundation in how sound works, its behavior in open and closed spaces, and the factors that affect its quality.

• Identify and operate essential technical equipment : Become familiar with the key components of a live sound system (microphones, mixing consoles, speakers, monitors, cables, etc.), understanding their functions and how to configure them correctly.

• Develop practical skills for setting up and adjusting sound systems : Learn how to create efficient and safe setups for concerts, from small acoustic shows to larger events.

• Acquire live sound mixing skills : Control levels, equalization, and dynamics in real time to achieve a balanced and professional sound experience during the show.

• Empowering Musicians to Manage Their Own Sound : Teach musicians and artists how to set up their equipment, perform basic sound checks, adjust their own monitors, and troubleshoot common live issues—especially useful for solo gigs or small-scale shows where a sound engineer isn't available.

• Promote technical autonomy in musical environments : Prepare participants to work independently or collaborate with other professionals in concerts, rehearsals, live recordings, etc.

• Promote good safety and maintenance practices : Ensure knowledge of basic electrical safety and equipment handling standards, as well as preventive maintenance.

• Introduce technical planning for musical events : Teach how to prepare the "technical rider" and coordinate technical needs with venues, lighting technicians, and other production teams.
