Course Objectives

The STAGE ART DIRECTION course, designed by renowned professionals Marisa Gutierrez (decorator) and Javier Nuñez (stylist and fashion designer), is designed to train professionals in the creation and management of the visual and aesthetic design of theatrical, film and live show productions. This course is ideal for people interested in set design, costumes, lighting and other visual aspects that contribute to creating the atmosphere and visual impact of a production.
This course also teaches students to take charge of the general aesthetics of a production, working on aspects such as set design, costumes or decorative lighting.
The course covers everything from the fundamentals of design to the complete realization of an aesthetic proposal for shows. Participants will learn to coordinate and direct the different visual aspects of a stage production, such as space design, costumes, lighting and props, collaborating with the creative team to achieve an immersive experience for the audience. We will also work on managing teams and resources to carry out a cohesive and achievable artistic vision.

Introduction to Stage Art Direction
What is art direction in the performing arts?
Duties and responsibilities of the art director.
Collaboration between the art director and the creative team (director, choreographer, set designer, etc.).

How to work with space: creating environments and atmospheres.
